From Blikkiesdorp to Platinum City

Our centre is based in what was once known as Blikkiesdorp, a place often marked by poverty, hardship, and high crime. Many families here face daily struggles - limited resources, unemployment, and unsafe environments that make life difficult for both children and parents.

But we have chosen to see beyond the pain and the labels. We now call our home Platinum City, because we believe that we are not made of tin - we are platinum: precious, strong, and full of potential.

Through love and community programs, we are breaking cycles of poverty and hopelessness, giving our children a chance to dream and build a better future. Every meal served, every lesson taught, and every act of kindness moves us closer to a community that shines not because of wealth, but because of the people within it.

Supporting Our Learners with Love and Care

Each year, through the generosity of our partners, our Homework Club children receive a special gift: a school bag filled with all the necessary stationery, school shoes, socks, and clothing they need for the new school year.

For many families in Platinum City, this simple act of kindness means so much more than just supplies - it represents hope, dignity, and the chance to learn with confidence.

We believe that when a child walks into school feeling prepared and valued, it builds self-esteem and motivation to succeed. This is why Leaders Peter and Sonja, together with our amazing volunteers, make sure no child is left behind, both in learning and in life.

HOMEWORK CLUB

Our After School Homework Club

At GROUND LEVEL PROJECTS, we believe that every child deserves a safe and supportive space to learn, grow, and succeed. Our Homework Club is open to children from different schools and grades, RELIGIONS. From Primary to Secondary, all are welcome.

Each afternoon, learners come together to complete their homework, receive help from our caring volunteers and tutors, and build strong study habits. We create a calm and friendly environment where children can ask questions, learn at their own pace, and gain confidence in their schoolwork.

But it's not just about books—we also provide nutritious meals and snacks, ensuring that every child is well-fed and ready to focus.

Our goal is simple:

To equip learners with knowledge, discipline, and hope, helping them dream big and achieve more in their education.
